22 hours ago · I have openvpn installed on ubuntu 19.04 and I am using the plugin "openvpn-auth-ldap.so" for authentication, I can authenticate users from an Organization Unit in my active directory in windows server 2012 but by trying to further restrict access only one group is not possible.

The LDAP server reports back the exact correct name as it is known in the LDAP directory back to the OpenVPN Access Server after a successful authentication however, and the Access Server uses that exact name to look up any special settings for this user. Access Server Post-Auth LDAP user to group - OpenVPN post_auth script checks with the LDAP server to see what LDAP group that user has (memberOf property). post_auth script uses specified rules to match LDAP group name to AS group name. post_auth script assigns the user to the specified group in Access Server and saves it.
