Debian Wheezy To Introduce Multiarch Support Debian has announced that they are introducing support for multiarch in Debian Wheezy. Multiarch support means that that a Debian system will be able to install and run applications built for a different target system. For example a 64-bit Debian system will be able to install and run an application built for the 32-bit system. Multiarch support means that that a Debian system will be able to install and run applications built for a different target system. For example a 64-bit Debian system will be able to install and run an application built for the 32-bit system. It is not possible to support three distributions; supporting two simultaneously is already difficult enough. This means that Wheezy will be supported for about one year after Jessie's release. At the time of writing, there has been no set date for Jessie's release.
